Insanity

I am so sorry I haven't posted anything in a couple of weeks, aka forever. It has literally been insane. I have been fired, but it doesn't matter, as school has been closed, maybe forever, but with my luck, probably not.
Anyways, its getting really bad. I can barely go to the grocery store without somebody almost running me over, driving WAY too fast. I've heard stories of groups of people going around and hunting down gas places.
Its way freaky, and I have decided to stay at my home until things quiet down...if they quiet down.
The reason I haven't posted in a while...our connection went down, because somebody drove a car straight into our power box. So, no power, and no internet. The city just recently came and fixed it, but they said they were almost out of the materials to make them, and that we should protect it. So we set up a barricade of things that would slow down a car going upwards 60 miles per hour, which is about as fast as you can get on the street we live on. Anyways, I need to go. My dad's saying something about my mom...

Shortages

I heard my boss complaining about "gas shortages" on other parts of the country. It doesn't really worry me, as I'm trying to wean off using oil, with some success.
We've had some thefts now. They often don't get away with anything. Ever since the burning car, I've been watching the gas "dispensers" when a customer isn't in the store. If I see someone getting into his car without paying, I'll run out, and tell them to pay. Most of them feel guilty and pay for it, but others...
Well, not much else to say...I got to get to work...

Burning Burning Everywhere.

I've made a choice. If the gas prices continue to go up, even with my job, I'm gonna be screwed. So, I am now taking a bus to a stop near the school, and then walking to the school. I know it doesn't seem like much, but I am also riding my bike to the gas station I now work at. I'm hoping this blows over, but I don't think it will. I found a burning car by a gas pump. I had to run out there, and use the nearby fire hose to put it out. Luckily, it hadn't really been close enough to the pump to get into the main supply but if I hadn't gotten out there right when I did, I'm not sure I would be here writing this post. Now, I'm on constant alert. This wasn't supposed to be a stressful job...
Oh well...since the bus is quite a bit cheaper then gas, I now have some extra money to, pardon the pun, burn. I'm not sure what to spend it on, and I might even save it. Yeah, I think I WILL save it.
Well, I guess thats it for now.
Hope I get to post another one of these.

Surprising Find

I finally found a job.

At a gas station. Which truly isn't that surprising.

Remember that blockade at the station I told you about last week?

Well, it happened again and again, and some of the people weren't practicing correct Civil Disobedience.

Thats right, they beat on the employees in the convience store.

So they quit, and I got their old job. I have a baseball bat behind the counter with me fortunately, though if I actually had to use it...

But I won't dwell on that. The good thing is that I have a job. For how long, I don't know, but they were willing to pay 9.50 an hour rather than the minimum wage of 6.75 (even though I would have taken minimum wage anyways)

Oh yeah, and if you've been wondering about the whole "Ace & Greg" post author, its because I'm sharing this blog with my buddy, who you know now is Greg, because he can't make one of his own. Something wrong with his email or something. Of course, he hasn't posted anything in the weeks since I've made this, but you know, w/e.

Still looking...

We haven't found our jobs yet, but thankfully, gas prices have dropped around 5 cents. Its not much, but its a start, and we can now buy around 3 1/2 gallons. Woop-dee-doo. When I went to my local gas station though, there were cars surrounding it, and they would not let me through. It really pissed me off, but I got over it. With gas stations being an abundant source here in the Valley, they had another one across the street, though it was slightly more expensive. I laughed at the mob, as they had not even thought about blockading the other side. =P Anyways, still looking for that job, but I think I may have a lead. If I find one, I'll tell you.

Woes of Jobless Drivers

As we all know, gas prices shot up to a legendary 4.45 nationwide average. Now, thats only an average, and here we have to pay 4.52 for a gallon. Being jobless, we can only fill up our car 3 gallons a WEEK. This is barely enough to get us into school, and we are currently looking for a job. However, even if we do get a job, we will have to get an advance just to get to them, and thats if the prices stay stable for a while. If the current trend continues however...things are not looking good for us. We would take a school bus, but they have said that, due to the rising gas prices, they will be cutting down the bus routes, meaning that rather then each bus having around 3 bus stops, it will have around 12. The buses are already packed with only 3 routes. How they expect to fit 12, I'm not sure, but I for one will not be on that bus.
